IONIS is a Berlin based Alternative Punk-Rock band. The members Manny, Phil, Steph, Zoppel and Erik have spent over 20 years in the music industry. Through their collective previous bands they have performed live on stages worldwide. Grinding through recording studios across several scenes. That experience is evident: IONIS are five people who individually bring their own passionate musical proficiency to the table.

 

The music lives in the late 90s / early 2000s Alternative Rock spirit: loud guitars, punchy drums, sharp hooks plus that melodic rage that creeps and stays under your skin. Style wise picture: Foo Fighters meets The Pixies, Bad Religion, a dab of Morrissey, with edges of Rise Against and Beatsteaks - all run through a raw “Berliner Bang!” 

 

With English lyrics, IONIS digs into pressure, manipulation, and the fight to stay awake in a world that keeps rewriting itself. Orwell’s atmosphere is always close: “Big Brother is watching you.” The contradictions feel real. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.” These aren’t just references; they’re sparks. IONIS writes from that friction: when truth gets blurred, when language turns into a weapon, when the noise outside starts echoing inside.

 

For the past 15 months, IONIS has been diligently working on their debut album - building tracks for people who still want honest selfmade music that cuts through.
